Brett Farve needs ankle Surgery
Brett Favre needs ankle surgery to play for the Minnesota Vikings next season. It’s unclear as to whether he’ll come back and play. He won’t make a decision on coming back until after the surgery.
It’s going to be interesting to see what kind of media coverage this gets. ESPN and other outlets took a lot of heat from sports fans because of the over covered announcement of Favre’s “retirement” announcement from the Green Bay Packers. He dominated the headlines on ESPN for about five days, giving instant updates on what he was doing. it really calls into question the 24 hour sports news cycle.
Favre is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. He brings ratings to ESPN and other networks. That’s why there was so much coverage of his retirement and him going to the New York Jets. Favre is the ultimate competitor. he doesn’t like going through all the off season work outs and training camp. He doesn’t need to attend all these activities, including training camp. he knows Brad Childress’ system, the West Coast offense and the game against the New Orleans Saints last season was one for the ages. Favre wants to go out on top and the Vikings are poised to do just that. Adrian Peterson helps and the defense should get better through the draft. Favre and the Vikings should be poised to make a run towards the Super Bowl and send Favre riding high with a championship ring.
