Rackers Wins Kicking Job In Houston
Update: According to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, K Neil Rackers has won the kicking job for the Texans, beating out original Texan Kris Brown. Rackers was brought in during the off-season from Arizona to compete with Brown, and the team cut Brown today.
Fantasy Impact: This is not a very surprising move as Brown struggled down the stretch of last season, possibly costing the team a victory or two. For his career, Rackers has connected on 78.2% of his kicks, but he's been excellent during the last 2 seasons. In 2009, he made 94.1% of his attempts, and in 2008, he converted on 89.3% of his kicks.
