NC State Wolfpack vs. Virginia Cavaliers
The NC State Wolfpack will pull into Charlottesville this weekend for an ACC matchup with the Virginia Cavaliers, who upset previously undefeated Georgia Tech last weekend. After an embarrassing 44-14 loss to Cincinnati and a narrow 45-35 defeat at Georgia Tech, NC State snapped a two-game winning streak with a win over Central Michigan. That got the Wolfpack back to .500 with a pair of crucial road tests coming their way, starting with this weekend’s trip to Virginia and including next weekend’s trip to Tallahassee to take on Florida State.
Virginia has been living on the edge for much of the past three weeks, starting with an overtime win over Idaho in early October. The next weekend the Cavaliers received a bye. Virginia looked like a prepared team last weekend, stifling Georgia Tech’s vaunted triple-option offense and finding success in its own ground attack. Virginia closes out a four-game homestand this weekend against NC State, and will hit the road to meet Miami and Maryland on October 27 and November 5, respectively.
Virginia is going off a huge upset win over GT last week and this week they will build on that win with another big win over the Wolfpack.
